4 Ways to Romance Your Customers to Buy More

The hardest sale is the first one…

It’s so much easier and profitable to continue doing business with the customers you already have.

Yet most businesses only generate only 10 to 30 percent of the sales and profits they could be making because they ignore existing customers!

Here are four ways to fix it and romance your current and past customers to come back, buy again and buy more.

 

1. Make a Great First Impression.

 

First “post-sale” impression that is. Most businesses give a lot of thought to the process leading to a sale, but not much consideration to what happens immediately after.

 

2. Continue The Courtship.

 

You know how attentive you are with potential clients? You nearly anticipate their wishes, right?

Why not be the same once they give you money?

It sounds simple and logical, yet most service professionals totally drop the ball here and don’t show their customers the same love as they showed them when they were prospects.

3. Surprise Them.

 

We all love good surprises. Build them into how you treat your customers.

The key here is that it has to be something unexpected that’s not normally a part of a product or service like yours.

I call this “strategic over-delivery”. Meaning you do more than expected and you plan for it in advance. In short – you have a system to accomplish it with each customer.

 

4. Celebrate Special Occasions.

 

Do you like getting birthday cards? So do you your customers. Why not find out their birthday and do something special for them on that day?

How about anniversaries. Theirs. And yours.

Meaning, do you make a note when they first buy from you? You could turn it into an opportunity to remind them to buy from you again.

Of course, all those tips are useless if you only have one thing to sell.
